Junior Interclub  

2020-21 Season 

Junior Interclub is played on Saturday mornings at 9 am at the Ashburton Trust Tennis Centre & Club courts. 

Players must belong to a local Club & be entered in an Interclub team at a grade appropriate to their skill level. 

Dates for 2020-21 season

Junior Interclub for the 2020-21 season starts Saturday 17th October 2020 and finishes pre Xmas Saturday 12th December 2020.

There will be no Junior Interclub

• Saturday 24th October 2020 [Ashburton Trust Junior Open - Labour weekend] 
• Saturday 14th November 2019 [Canterbury Show weekend]  
• Saturday 5th December 2020 [Frontrunner Bush Inn Junior Age Group Tournament]

Interclub restarts for the year on Saturday 13th February 2021 [post Christmas] and finishes for the season Saturday 20th March 2021.

End of season Prize Giving will be held on the last day of Interclub Saturday 20th March 2021

Grades for 2020-21 season

The competition is divided into four Grades according to the players' ability.  

The Grades are:

Junior C Grade

• Players need to be able to rally, serve & score
  
• Games are played on Saturday mornings at local Club courts
• Play both singles & doubles
• Must use 'Green Dot' balls
• Singles & Doubles - play 1 set to 6 - no tie break

Junior B Grade

• As your skills & abilities begin to improve you move up the levels
• Games are played on Saturday mornings at local Club courts
• Play both singles & doubles
• Must use 'Green Dot' balls
• Singles & doubles - play 1 set to 6 - no tie break

 Junior A Grade

• High standard of skill of rallying, serving & self umpiring
• Games played on Saturday mornings at local Club courts
  Oak Grove, Ashburton
• Play both singles & doubles
• SIngles - play 1 set to 9 - tie break at 8 all, Doubles - play 1 set to 6 - tie break at 6 games all

B Grade [Not being played this season]

• High standard of skill of rallying, serving and self umpiring
• Games played on Saturday mornings at the Ashburton Trust Tennis Centre, Oak Grove, Ashburton
• Play both singles & doubles
• Singles - play to two tiebreak sets (tie break played at six game all) if one set all play a match tie break to 10 points (margin of two), Doubles - no ad deuce (receivers choice) play to nine games - if eight games play a tie break (first to seven, margin of two)
